To begin, David Conte wrote his /Antiphon/, played by Alison Luedeke with her Millenia Consort.
Then, for this labor day weekend edition of Ancient and Modern, we play American Composer Frederick Rzewski’s classic “The people united will never be defeated”. Based on a Chilean song of the time of Allende, this extended set of variations was composed in 1975. The pianist is Ursula Oppens.
