Part Two: Bethany Christian Services provides foster care and adoption services in NH. Recently their contract came up for renewal, and Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky questioned the contract, and how an agency like Bethany can legally provide state funded services in NH when they refuse to offer services to same gender couples looking to foster or adopt.
Bethany Christian Services has contracts in 30 other states. One of those states is Michigan.
We speak with Jay Kaplan from Michigan’s ACLU about their legal challenge to the state concerning their practice of permitting state funded faith based foster care and adoption agencies like Bethany to discriminate against same sex couples.
