As our country unravels, a poem seems lame. In the midst of a war, more like playing a game. But that’s what I’ve got, just a poem or two. It’s one way to fight back and to name what is true.
And the truth is, as prophesied, our crisis is here. Our Constitution is trampled; time to tremble and fear. The courts are reacting, say Trump has to stop, But Trump holds the cards; he controls federal cops.
So Elon can rampage, send kids in to play, While security guards hold career folks at bay. Musk is closing departments, destroys A I D. He loves to demolish; he does it with glee!
Now medical research is hitting the dust, Resources for doctors are starting to rust. And why this destruction? Who’s served in the end? Why the Donald, of course, and the Donald’s good friends!
Destroying the government’s one of their aims. Regulation’s demise will enhance all their games. The existential dilemma that all of us face— How to stop the rampaging, at least slow its pace?
