Part II of the Jimi Hendrix Birthday tribute kicks off with Jimi and band paying homage to a couple of his blues heroes – versions of Mannish Boy/ I’m A Man by Muddy Waters/ Ellis McDaniels, better known as o Diddley, and Born Under a Bad Sign popularized by Albert King. The show moves on to covers of Bob Dylan – All Along The Watchtower, performed live at The Isle Of White Festival in 1970 and Drifter’s Escape from the South Saturn Delta album. The second part of the show includes covers of Jimi Hendrix songs by Sting and John McLaughlin, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, Medeski Martin and Wood, and Derek and the Dominos live at the Fillmore in NYC in 1970 (sorry, no Duane Allman). Man, that was fun, can’t wait to do it again next year!
