This week’s show is dubbed our “Pre-Primary Special,” coming a day before the long-awaited New Hampshire Presidential Primary. Maggie Fogarty opened the first third of the show, providing an update of the cautious, but encouraging progress being made in the NH House with the state’s re-authorization of its Medicaid program, as bundled into the Affordable Care Act. Then Arnie Alpert and Maggie spoke in-studio with two field coordinators from the American Friends Service Committee, Hector Salamanca Arroyo and Kevin Rutledge, who recently returned from a year’s fieldwork in Iowa in anticipation of its Primary Caucuses for delegates to this year’s party conventions. Later, Arnie finished the show interviewing Lillyanne Daigle, a field organizer for Global Zero, an international group dedicated to eliminating the world stockpile of nuclear weapons through continued disarmament. Lillyanne has been working in New Hampshire quizzing the various primary candidates where they stand on nuclear disarmament.
