Part 1: We speak with Paul Glastrup, writer for the Washington Monthly. We discuss how Trump incited the riot in Washington DC. We had expected violence earlier, during the voting period, but the fuse was longer than expected. The crowd was older than expected, and more grimly determined. The various branches of government have been hollowed out.
It should be noted that the budget for the capitol police has risen 300% in the last few years.
Part 2: We discuss with Bill Curry the overall effects of yesterday. Police Reform now viewed differently when the behavior yesterday is contrasted with the behavior during the BLM protests. Other aspects of Trump’s fascist approach are also discussed. More calls for Trump’s removal are registered.
