We’re taking a few days off, so for the rest of the week, we’re giving you suggestions for your summer reading list, as we repeat some of our favorite author interviews.
Part One: Author Andrew Yang whose book, “The War on Normal People” argues that automation is going to create a massive job loss within the next 10-15 years. He advocates for a universal basic income to prevent societal chaos. (And the sharpening of pitchforks). Andrew is an entrepreneur who considers himself a human capitalist. He’s also a candidate for president in 2020.
Part Two: “We All Fast Food Workers Now,” is the title of a book by Dartmouth History Professor Annelise Orleck. It’s an urgent look at globalization, and the workers fighting for respect, safety, and a living wage.
