November 15, 2024

We rethink the week with Dean Spiliotis, Civic Scholar and Presidential Scholar at Southern New Hampshire University; Stephen Pimpare, Professor at the University of New Hampshire and a nationally recognized expert on poverty, homelessness, and U.S. social policy; and Robert Hennelly, reporter for The Chief/Leader, a public employee union journal in NYC, and @stucknation.

Among other topics, we discuss the spiking second wave of coronavirus and our need for national leadership and consistency on this issue. We are shocked by the growing gap between the US and the European Union in the COVID-19 trend lines.

We also discuss Russia’s paying bounties for the killing of American troops in Afghanistan, and Pres. Trump’s preposterous excuse that no one told him it had happened.  America’s influence on the world stage is in retreat.

We wonder whether Trump actually wants to win re-election or whether he is doing his best to lose.  The latter conclusion is supported by a look at many of his actions during the various crises facing the country, as well as by his tweets and his refusal to listen to the good advice being offered by his campaign advisers.
