Part One:

We speak with Joe Romm, founding editor of Think Progress, about the shocking lack of media coverage of the existential crisis resulting from climate change. In 2018, fully one-third of the entire year’s climate change coverage on all networks was the result of just one program on NBC on December 30. Even as the danger and urgency of climate change has vastly increased over recent years, the media coverage has significantly declined.

Part Two:

We speak with Troy Wolverton, senior tech correspondent for Business Insider, about Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s call to break up the economic power of the mega-corporations in the tech industry. These oligarchies not only stifle competition and creativity; they also undermine our democracy. One example of this occurred just this morning: Our host, Arnie Arnesen tried to post a notice on Facebook that our show today would discuss Sen. Warren’s proposal to break up the tech giants. Unbelievably, Facebook refused to let her post the notice. Apparently, Facebook has also shut down other speakers’ attempts to discuss criticism of the tech giants’ monopoly power. Is Big Brother going to control our lives?
