Part One:
Our guest today is Marianne Williamson, candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. She discusses her qualifications and her policies, her vision and her efforts to be accepted to participate in the party debates next month.
She also answers some difficult questions, including why her lack of political experience in Congress or the Governor’s mansion is, in no way, a reason she wouldn’t make an excellent president. (She tells us why she believes the opposite may be true.) Williamson also explains how her many books and lectures about spirituality and the “L” word (love) do not make her unable to think clearly about the political issues that affect everyday Americans. Again, she believes that other candidates’ failure to weave moral and spiritual values into their political programs renders them less desirable to lead our country.
Part Two:
We speak with Michael Robbins, the project director of the Arab Barometer, about research he has led into the public opinions of ordinary people in Arab countries. His surveys have elicited a range of Arabs’ views about the U.S., Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. We delve deeply into their opinions about the possibility of war with Iran. The results were often surprising and no doubt have consequences for our own foreign policy.
