Our usual report from the Lone Star State was cancelled today, as Scott Braddock is ill. We’ll catch up with him next week.
Part One: John Nichols of The Nation joins us! Topics include: Trump’s press conference, Paris, the blue wave, Maine’s turning blue, Acosta, Fox supporting CNN lawsuit, troops at the border, fire in CA – a national emergency, Mattis, Pelosi, and more.
Part Two: We’re replaying our October 19 interview about school funding in NH, with Andru Volinsky and John Tobin. The way education is funded in our state leads to serious inequality in the schools, because the funding is based on local property taxes. Andru and John were part of a lawsuit to try to change that, back in the 1980’s. The state agreed to contribute a paltry sum (8%) to aid poor districts – but the inequality has gotten worse. There’s talk of a new lawsuit. Today we learn about school funding in NH, inequality, and what we can do about it.
