Part 1: We talk with Scott Braddock, editor of the Quorum Report, regarding the voting situation Texas. Turnout is heavy. Republicans on the ballot are increasingly more open to bipartisanship, as though they are anticipating having to work with the Democrats.
The uncertainty about what the governor will change next, and the Republican infighting is interesting to watch.
Part 2: We talk with Bill Curry, writer for Salon.com, a progressive, former aide to Bill Clinton, and former candidate for governor of Connecticut.
We discuss the state of the election. The Trump supporters continue within in their ‘bubble of propaganda’, and seem to believe Trump’s various claims. We discuss how progressives are trying to understand trumpers, but it is a conflict between reason and the reptilian-brain reactions of the trumpers. But the sign of hope is that 4.5 million Americans will turn 18 every year, and that demographic group is looking beyond Trump. We anticipate that the next political debate will be intramural, and that Biden holds a chance of a second age of reform and progressive action.
