Part One: Our weekly update from the Lone Star State with Scott Braddock, editor of the Quorum Report. Topics include: Trump, GOP polling numbers, Democratic messaging, Beto, the Beto v. Cruz debate that didn’t happen, GOP state senator sexting with a grad student, some Republicans in Texas are endorsing Democrats…what’s up with that?

Part Two: NH has a proposed amendment to the state constitution that will be on the ballot in November. This amendment deals takes up the issue of who has a right to sue the state government. Simplified version: essentially anyone who is eligible to vote would have standing to sue over the government’s use of revenue. Naturally, it’s a lot more nuanced than that. This proposed amendment has an interesting mix of supporters: Republicans, Democrats, and libertarians.

Chuck Douglas is a former NH Supreme Court justice, a former Republican US Congressman, and a current trial lawyer. He walks us through the reasons for the amendment, and explains how it will work if it passes.
